DIY Paper Lotus Craft with Munix

DIY Paper Lotus Craft with Munix

April, 2025

There’s something magical about a lotus  symbol of beauty, strength, and peace. And now, with just a few folds and snips, you can bring one to life right at your craft table. Whether it's for a Diwali diya stand, classroom project, or festive decor  this easy craft is a favorite!

 What You'll Need:

  • Colored craft paper (pink, red, white, or pastel tones)

  • Green paper for leaves

  • Munix scissors (for smooth, curved cuts)

  • Glue stick or Fevicol

  • Pencil, ruler

  • Optional: glitter, sequins, or pearls for decoration

 Let’s Craft the Lotus!

1. Cut Petal Circles

Start by cutting out six to eight identical circles (7–10 cm diameter) from pink paper using Munix scissors. Then fold each circle in half, then in half again, to make petal bases.

2. Shape the Petals

Use your scissors to trim the top edges of folded pieces into a rounded or pointed petal shape. When unfolded, you’ll get beautiful 3D petals!

3. Build the Bloom

Start gluing petals in a circular pattern slightly overlapping them like a real lotus. Add a second layer in between the gaps of the first to give it a fuller, realistic look.

4. Add Leaves

Cut green circles slightly larger than petals. Fold and trim them into leaf shapes and stick them beneath the flower to complete the base.

5. Decorate the Center

Roll a small yellow strip into a coil and stick it in the center to mimic the stamen. Add a touch of glitter for extra sparkle!
